| The clay is
the precious material quarried out from the bowels of the earth
and used formerly in Etruscan times to create amphorae, bowls
and jars for the daily use. Nowadays
as times ago the clay is almost worked with the same procedure
and used to create furnishing articles for the garden and the
house.
The procedure of creating an object starts
from the manual workmanship in a special machine that rotates.
On the base of the machine there’s the piece of clay.
When the object has got a peculiar shape
it must dry in the sun to avoid possible cracks on the surface.
After drying it’s put in the kiln and
baked at high temperature (about 1000° C).
If we want to glaze the article it must
be put in the kiln again at about 850-900° C. This temperature
musn’t be higher because it could cause an obstruction at the
pores of the "biscotto" (this is the name of the object
before cooking) and the glaze couldn’t be absorbed.
We can make reproduction of objects,
pictures and tiles for street numbers.
It could be a good idea for an original
